If for reasons peculiar to the eastern colonies I am unfortunately debarred from the position accorded to brother officers and from further hope of promotion or transfer to a colony where I should not be on a lower official plane, I earnestly hope the Right Honourable the Secretary of State may be pleased to bestow on me such monetary relief as is reasonably and equitably prayed for.
9. I must apologise for the length of this letter, and ask pardon if any matter has been introduced that may appear to be irrelevant or unnecessary.
